Interpreting
Professional spoken-language support
Interpreting enables people who use different languages to take part in a live conversation with a shared, unified understanding of what is being said. LSS arranges highly coordinated in-person, telephone, and video support for appointments, interviews, meetings, and major events, delivering via consecutive or simultaneous formats where appropriate.
Before recommending a delivery method, we carefully evaluate the specific language, dialect, core purpose, number of participants, context sensitivity, and practical setting. Briefing materials, turn-taking protocols, confidentiality measures, and any specific accessibility needs are fully agreed upon during booking. This proactive approach helps participants communicate clearly and naturally, while the interpreter maintains absolute accuracy, strict impartiality, and professional boundaries.
In-Person Consecutive Interpreting
The speaker pauses at suitable intervals while the interpreter renders the message. This method is ideal for legal conferences, healthcare appointments, interviews, assessments, social-care meetings, and small-group discussions where precision and interaction matter.
Telephone Interpreting
Provides fast, practical access by phone for urgent enquiries, short appointments, customer contact, and situations where a visual presence is unnecessary. It drastically reduces travel time and seamlessly supports geographically dispersed participants.
Video Remote Interpreting
Combines remote convenience with clear visual communication. This format is highly suitable when facial expressions, document sharing, or close turn-taking are important, including healthcare, legal, education, and safeguarding contexts.
Simultaneous Interpreting
The interpreter renders the speech almost immediately while the speaker continues without pausing. Primarily used for conferences, formal events, webinars, and large-scale meetings, this is often supported by specialized booths, wireless headsets, or dedicated remote platforms.
Whispered Interpreting
A specialized form of simultaneous interpreting delivered quietly to one or two participants. This is highly effective when the vast majority of the room shares a common language and only a small number of attendees require linguistic support.
Liaison and Community Interpreting
Short, fluid, two-way interpreting that supports day-to-day practical communication between professionals, public services, families, and local communities. The interpreter remains strictly neutral and manages conversational turn-taking carefully.
Conference and Event Interpreting
Thoroughly planned multilingual support covering entire language teams, complex session schedules, technical AV requirements, pre-briefing materials, and participant access for in-person, hybrid, or fully online events.
On-Demand and Out-of-Hours Support
Flexible remote coverage can be pre-arranged for urgent or unscheduled operational needs. Ongoing availability depends entirely on the target language, time windows, safeguarding considerations, and the specific information supplied at the time of booking.
Good to know: For sensitive assignments, tell us the preferred dialect, gender considerations, accessibility needs, subject matter, participant numbers and whether continuity with a previous interpreter is important.
