Publication note: This is a professionally drafted working policy. LSS should add its correct legal entity, registration details and retention periods, then obtain qualified UK legal review before relying on it.
1 Commitment
LSS values diversity and aims to provide services and working relationships free from unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation and exclusion. Everyone should be treated with dignity, fairness and respect.
2 Scope
This commitment applies to clients, service users, employees, linguists, contractors, applicants, suppliers and other people involved in LSS activities.
3 Protected characteristics
LSS will not unlawfully discriminate because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, or any other status protected by applicable law.
4 Inclusive service delivery
We aim to understand language, dialect, communication and accessibility needs; offer reasonable adjustments where practicable; respect names, identities and cultural contexts; and avoid assumptions or stereotyping.
5 Recruitment and allocation
Selection and allocation decisions should be based on objective criteria such as competence, qualifications, experience, language match, availability and assignment requirements.
6 Conduct
Bullying, harassment, discriminatory conduct and retaliation are not accepted. Concerns should be reported promptly and handled fairly, sensitively and as confidentially as possible.
7 Responsibility and review
Everyone representing LSS is expected to support this policy. LSS should review practices, learn from feedback and address barriers to equitable access or participation.
8 Raising a concern
Equality or diversity concerns can be sent to info@thelss.com. Raising a concern in good faith should not result in adverse treatment.
